Les illustrations de Greg Hildebrandt & Tim Hildebrandt ("The Brothers Hildebrandt") pour les cartes Sylvan Tutor, Timber Protector, River Kelpie, Diabolic Intent, Edoras, Capital of Rohan, Stonehewer Giant, Théoden, Strength Restored et Shelob, Whose Lair Is Death, de l'édition The Lord of the Rings Commander Decks, ont précédemment été utilisées pour illustrer le calendrier J.R.R. Tolkien de 1978 paru aux éditions Ballantine Books (voir aussi cette anecdote et celle-ci).
